About me

I grew up in Tampa, FL listening to Rush, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Jeff Beck and 80's metal.  I went to normal college for a while, and when I decided to study music, I took a semester at Berklee in Boston before settling in at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.  There, I studied Jazz Performance under Jack Petersen, heard exciting new sounds, and met a great many interesting and talented musicians.

Since 1990, I have made Jacksonville my home and made a career of teaching and playing guitar.  I have played in a number of local bands and studios playing rock, pop, jazz, funk, and reggae/island/world music.  Touring with Donavon Frankenreiter from 2008-2012 led me to bigger stages, greater exposure, and the diverse culture, nature, and people of five different continents.

When I'm not on the road, I spend most of my time teaching guitar at Wehner's School of the Arts, playing in "3 The Band" with Donavon bandmates Eric Brigmond (keyboards, trumpet) and Craig Barnette (drums), playing Trop Rock with "Jimmy Parrish & The Waves," playing wedding duos with violinist Kyle Wehner of Wehner Weddings, and freelancing for whomever needs a guitarist.  I'm not much of a jazzer or a shredder, just a versatile player who likes to make the music good.

Thanks for visiting!
